TweetIt concerns 10x A320neo and 2x A330-900, which will be delivered in 2023 and 2024. The Italian airline has signed a lease agreement with AerCap for this.
The Alitalia successor is expanding the fleet considerably. In September, the company already signed a lease with ALC for 15 A220s, 2 A320neos, 9 A321neos and 5 A330-900s. 8 A350-900s will also be leased, the first of which recently rolled out of the spray hall at Airbus.

In addition, ITA ordered 28 aircraft directly from Airbus in December, of which 7 A220s, 11 A320neos and 10 A330-900s. For example, in a few years the Italians will have one of the most modern fleets in Europe, and the old Alitalia boxes will largely be able to go.
Meanwhile, ITA is still considering several potential partners. Lufthansa and the Italian shipping company MSC want to jointly take a majority stake in ITA. But according to Italian media, Indigo Partners and Air France-KLM would also be interested.
ITA is still a 100 percent state-owned company, but the Italian government wants to sell part of its shares. The airline is also too small to survive on its own in an industry dominated by giants such as the Lufthansa Group, IAG and Air France-KLM.
